Terms & Conditions Policy

These terms and conditions have been set up to place a clear understanding of what is required of you as a Groom It client. Your dogs health and wellbeing is paramount, as is your own safety. These conditions are also designed to ensure Groom It suffers minimal financial losses due to appointments not being honored.

Please read it in full, I have highlighted areas that require your full understanding of fees payable, relating to failing to keep your appointment, last minute cancellations, out of hours grooming, late pick ups and out of hours early drop offs and late payment of your service.

Making A Booking Monday – Friday 8am-6pm

When making a booking, you are required to honor It. I understand emergencies arise.

Payment of your service is strictly on the day of your service. Any exceptions need to be discussed prior to your appointment

Any bookings you make are not yours to pass on to your friends if you nolonger require it. I have a waiting list and if you nolonger require it, I will allocate it to the next regular client on that waiting list.

24 hours notice is required for all cancellations.

Cancelling the night before your appointment appointment will incur a $20 fee.

Not turning up for your appointment without any notice will result in a no show fee of $50

If you are more than 20mins late for your appointment , it is deemed to be a missed appointment and a fee of $50 will apply

Your appointment will be cancelled if your dog comes in with injuries, has contagious diseases, or is pregnant, whelping or has stitches.

If you request to book your appointments a year ahead, you are entirely responsible for keeping a note of these dates.

If you request to move your appointment and it puts the remaining bookings out of sync, a $20 rescheduling fee will be charged to cancel and reschedule your remaining bookings.

If you do not want to pay this rescheduling fee, I will cancel all remaining bookings and you can book one appointment ahead.

Out of hours early morning drop off, (before 7.45am If you request this, and don’t turn up at the time agreed, you will be charged for this time.

I set my alarm earlier to get my morning routine sorted so I can be ready for when you drop your dog off earlier.

I cannot simply meet you in the grooming room, crate your dog, then carry on with my morning routine.

Why?

Your dog may suffer stress and harm him/herself. Your dog may damage or swallow bedding in the crate, So for your dogs safety, your dog may bark excessively, disturbing surrounding neighbours. I must never leave your dog unattended in the grooming room.

PLEASE TOILET YOUR DOG BEFORE DRIVING OVER FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT.

DO NOT TOILET YOUR DOG DOWN MY DRIVEWAY

Late pick ups

All dogs must be picked up within 1 hour of completion of the groom. If you have a 4pm booking, you must collect by 6pm, no exceptions. You will be contacted 30 mins prior to the service being finished to give you ample time to collect on time.

It is your responsibility to request a late pick up at the time of booking your groom. Do not request a late pick up at drop off.

Safety First

FOR YOUR SAFETY

NEVER TRY TO GAIN ENTRY INTO MY BACK YARD.

NEVER ATTEMPT TO ENTER MY HOME.

IF YOU ARRIVE AT THE SALON AND I AM NOT THERE, TXT/PHONE ME, OR JUST WAIT IN OR NEAR THE SALON, I WON’T BE FAR AWAY.

I’ll refuse services for dogs that....

Have stitches AND within 14 days after stitches have been removed, 2 weeks AFTER, IS the soonest I will groom your dog.

Why?

Because the risk of infection is extremely high. Your vet will support this risk.

If your dog is pregnant and is 2 weeks or less away from giving birth.

Why?

Because the risk of aborting puppies is extremely high. Even hotter than normal bath water can kill puppies.

4 weeks after giving birth.

Why?

Because the puppies have very low immunity and the mother can return to her litter with any array of disease that can then infect the puppy’s. Also leaving puppys for such a long duration is extremely stressful on both mother and puppies.

Have an injury such as cruciate ligament tear, limping or in pain or has open wounds.

Why?

Because an injured dog may struggle with pain and/or stress from a lengthy groom on the table, so may not be able to be fully groomed, may not be able to weight bear so much of the groom may not be able to be completed.

Further injury may be inflicted to the existing injury. Further infection may occur.

Is in season, actively bleeding

Why?

Because male dogs will urinate excessively in the salon. All dogs become distracted and difficult to groom. Dripping blood drips all over the table, the groomer, equipment, in the crate, on bedding and on the salon floor. All of this requires extra cleaning and this requires extra time.

Conjunctivitis – Ringworm – Fleas – Parvo Virus – Canine Cough

Why?

These are all highly contagious and the risk of passing some of these on to dogs, especially young and elderly dogs can be lethal and in all instances, will result in veterinary care.

I will take all efforts to ensure the safety of your dog whilst in my care. Due to high levels of allergens and pollens and agriculture chemical sprays in the Hawkes Bay, I take no responsibility for dogs that are itching, scratching, chewing or licking themselves. It is perfectly normal for dogs to itch 1-3 days after a groom.

I reserve the right to refuse a dog due to owners aggresive behaviour and/or unachievable requests, dogs temperament, coat condition or poor health.

IN THE EVENT OF A NATURAL DISASTER OR CATESTROPHIC EVENT, I WILL ENDEAVOR TO HEAD INLAND WITH YOUR DOG, TO HIGH GROUND, PARK ISLAND, PORIATI AREA.
